"RADIO INTERVIEW"

Hailing from Vancouver, Canada, YASMINE, from an early age would captivate the listener with her golden, sultry, emotionally laden tones. Her influences span across different genres. From the smoldering jazz of Anita Baker, to the legendary Stevie Wonder, the world beats of Nitin Sawhney and the blue grass sounds of Alison Krauss. Yasmine has found her sense of style and contribution to the world of music.

If music truly has the power to take one to a different space and time, then, Yasmine is the medium, the vessel, and the interpreter of the human condition. Her gifted voice has the power to move the spirit, stir the soul and bring light into darkness; An artist whose own spirituality is manifested in her music.

Working with her Lyricist and Executive Producer, Anar Rajabali, the songs on the EP reflect the journey of life. Driven by Anar's poetic and intimate lyrics, the songs speak of love, faith, spirit, contemplation, turmoil, identity and ultimately, the search within to discover one1s own destiny. Inspired by mystical, devotional poetry and motivated by the need to create, this music is truly soul music.

Yasmine's sound is World. The sitar, tabla, doumbek, djembe, udu, and bansuri resonate and culminate to create an innovative fusion of East meets West. An array of colorful musicians coupled with the timeless music and production of Joe Cruz, Slone, David"Bass"Marion
creates an introspective experience for the listener.

Once in awhile, an artist emerges whose voice has the ability to reach deep within one's heart and soul, who sings for all of us- a reflection of our own fears, our own uncertainties, our strengths and the power that exist within us.
